Located in Devon UK, Grafham Stud is the equestrian home of stallions Jumbo, Jetset, Jigilo and Free Spirit, owned by Carolyn Bates. Specialising in breeding competition, eventing, dressage, showjumping, and hunting horses and offering stud facilities.

Whether you are looking to have your mare inseminated directly or artificially, Grafham can help you. In addition to this we also offer excellent stabling facilities with grazing on lush paddocks in the beautiful Devon countryside.

Carolyn Bates and Grafham Stud relocated from Buckinghamshire to the rolling hills of Devon in 2000.

Just off the A361 near Tiverton (1 hour from Bristol), the stud is surrounded by 70 acres of beautiful countryside and boasts some of the finest stallions in the UK, the most famous of which is JUMBO.

Carolyn bought JUMBO when he was six months old at the HIS sales at Malvern. He is, without doubt, one of the top competition sires in the country today and renowned for his kind temperament. He has exceeded all expectation in every discipline, eventing, dressage, show jumping, hunting (whipping in), hunt relays, pantomime and even lead-horse for beginners on lead rein.

Grafham Stud is also home to JETSET, FREE SPIRIT BRIEF ENCOUNTER and JIGILO, who stand proudly alongside their father.  

This will be Jumbo's last season at public stud. He will be standing in Shropshire

All stallions have inherited Jumbo's outstanding temperament and visitors are always welcome at the stud - just give Carolyn a call and come and meet `the boys' and view the youngstock available.
